To get your main keyword into the title of the domain I often use sub-domain system. This is were you buy a domain i.e. zoople.net does not look to good at the moment but then you go to the C-panel and you add a sub domain with say your niche keyword.zoople.net .
You can now see that you have a domain with your main keyword in it. This means a lot in you may see from time to time a lot of websites with dashes in they are doing the same thing so that they can get the all important keyword in the domain. When search engines come to look at websites they do like to see the main keyword in the domain so remember that little trick and remember that these sub domains most types of web hosting allow lots of these so you can make many niches from one hosting site.
There will be examples of these sites on the blog see the link at the bottom of the article. Having got your domain sorted out and your keywords you now need to consider how you are going to dominate that niche.
The best method I have found is to analyze your competition and to do this you are going to need tools the best tool I use will be detailed on the blog. You can also do a manual analysis of your competition. For all the twenty keywords you are thinking of dominating print out the top ten results for Google.
Then for your site has to be better than all those offered here in front of you. Now you need to sit down and plan this carefully your site needs to offer more than the top sites. So look at the styles, look at how the pages are developed, look at how many pages there are per site.
The method I like to use the most is to have more pages than any of the top sites this seems to work well as the search engine reads or spiders the pages and says hey there is more relevant content on this subject being provided by this website so I shall give it more prominence in my rankings.
Many times in Google the most important thing to remember is the search engine like good, unique content that is relevant to the subject with good internal linking structure. We shall come onto linking structure later its quite a subject depending on were you would like to target page rank.
Find the web site with the most content and then do some research to find more on the subject than your competitors by doing this you will be able to compile a good quality website with fresh content and be able to get ranked well via the natural search engine ability.
The blog will contain some more detailed examples of how to go about this. Web design is evolving and you need to be able to produce unique content and content that can be updated both manually and automatically via RSS feeds or other content scripts as well as being very relevant to your niche and offering more than your competitors.
See you on the blog for part II's links and examples.
All the best for your website development.
